thelittlebangHere we are, officially in our second week of the initial creation phase. Here's hoping everyone's busy creating, or plotting, or outlining, or whatever else it is that you do in the early stages of creating!
So to start things off, we would love it if everyone could introduce themselves, and pimp out their fandom, talk about their characters, etc. We will be having an "official" pimp your fandom post next week, so don't panic if you don't have any info to pimp your fandom here. This is primarily to a little "meet & greet" so we can all find out what everyone else is doing. And if you get excited by a project, let the person know!
Back in 2009,havocthecat made a sample form you can use, if you're more comfortable with structure. Or you could do a more freeform comment. Or you could introduce yourself over in bangalittle or your personal journal, and drop a link in the comments here for us. Whatever makes you the most comfortable!
I'm going to post mine in the comments here, so you can see an example of one way it can be done. Again, the stuff in the text box is just a guideline. Feel free to take it, leave it, alter it. :)
And speaking ofbangalittle, feel free to pop on over and post about your project. Squee, bitch, moan, freak out, plead with the muse(s), whatever. Just remember that when you're posting there, we ask that you follow these three simple rules [that I'll add in an intro post over there, too].

- don't go about spoiling people for shows/canons whose fandoms are currently operating under spoiler warnings. it's just not nice.
- don't post fic/links to fic that are unrelated to your tlb project. there are many other places you can do that.

Why did you choose this pairing?: This is an idea I've been toying with for a while, both as fanfic and as original fic. I decided to give it a shot as fanfic now, since the original fic idea kind of stalled a bit.
Other fandoms: I don't know if I have the space to put them all in. I like a lot of fandoms, and have been known to dabble here and there. As long as there's femslash involved, I'm probably into the fandom somehow.
Anything else you want to tell us about your fandom?: There really should be more Private Practice femslash out there! LOL!
Any fun links about your fandom or pairing to share?: I am completely blanking atm, but I'll have them for the official fandom pimp post next week...

Pairing: Haruka/Michiru
Why did you choose this pairing?: Because they're my favorite pairing in Sailor Moon and I just could not let go of the idea of the awesome lesbian road trip idea and Haruka/Michiru is the perfect couple for that since Haruka loves driving.
Other fandoms: Various fandoms - I'm kinda poly when it comes to fandoms. I play in both Western and non-Western fandoms.
Anything else you want to tell us about your fandom?: There's not much to say about my fandom considering it's one of most well known gateway anime out there. >.> It has it's good parts and bad parts, but the pairing I write is actually canon and it was created in the early nineties. The interesting thing is that I don't really care much for the main romantic pairing though. However, the awesome thing about this fandom is that the manga is finally being re-released in English this autumn and it's going to be in a much better quality than the version that was the Tokyo Pop release and it will actually be in R to L format.

Why did you choose this pairing?: I had the thought of this story at the end of Tennant's first season. With Ms. Sladen's passing this year, I decided this was one more way to keep the character I loved as a child going onwards. And to be honest, I get tired of the Rose bashing.
Other fandoms: +laughs endlessly+ I'd run out of comment space. Primarily in Transformers currently.
Anything else you want to tell us about your fandom?: It's a staple of my childhood, and while New Who hasn't really caught the same kind of spirit for me, I am thankful it exists to keep the franchise open and letting more people find awesome sci-fi.
Any fun links about your fandom or pairing to share?: Not really.

Pairing: I am not completely settled yet! It will be either Sam carter/Sarah Gardner, Vala Mal Doran/Sarah Gardner or Vala Mal Doran/Sam Carter.
Why did you choose this pairing?: All three are awesome female characters and all three once were host to a Goa'uld or Tok'ra. And those two things always make me hooked on characters. And when I am hooked I pair :D
Other fandoms: Buffy! Firefly! West Wing! X-Files!
Anything else you want to tell us about your fandom?: My third love (after X-Files and Star Trek: Voyager) and still going strong after so many years.
Any fun links about your fandom or pairing to share?: I am not sure there is anything online with the two Sarah Gardner pairings I am contemplating :)

Why did you choose this pairing?: I began thinking about this story in the context of a response to a Trudy/Grace prompt on
Other fandoms: My major fandom right now is Avatar TLA, but I am also working on fics for source whose title does not contain the word "avatar". Really! More generally, I am a n00b; I've lurked for like a decade, but I only started posting fic last year. I've written femslash before, but it was fairly short - nothing like this!
Anything else you want to tell us about your fandom?: I feel weird calling it "my fandom" when I sort of hate the canon - I mean, the movie's pretty, but there are so many, many things wrong with it in just about every other way. But I got sucked into it by using a Yuletide prompt as an excuse to rewrite the entire movie, and there's so much potential in the beginning of the story that the movie utterly fails at pursuing! I can't tear myself away. /o\
Any fun links about your fandom or pairing to share?: I'm not actually properly in the fandom, but there is a movie script draft on IMSDb - some of the bits that got edited out between that and the final version were pretty interesting in terms of Grace's backstory. And if you want to check out fic, I highly recommend

Why did you choose this pairing?: There was probably alcohol involved. Uh, because I like the parallels and proximity? Because they are both pretty and damaged? Because Santana lives in Ohio and wouldn't put up with the chips on their shoulders?
Other fandoms: RPF mainly, but I've been cutting back.
Anything else you want to tell us about your fandom?: I wish it was a fandom. I can't find any fic for A Marine Story, despite all the strong women in it. I'll just chalk it up to being a recent release. I can hook a beta up, if they want to see the movie. *coughcough*

Pairing: Well, this is a bit tricky, as I'm still contemplating/working on two different stories. The first would be Emily/Olivia(/Rachel Maddow) post-Lauren. The other is an AU that involves a lot of original characters, so it would be Emily/OFC, but with more flirting and longing glances and not-really-unrequited lust (because they don't really get together until the sequel) and possibly an asexual Olivia.
Why did you choose this pairing?: It chose me? I don't know when Emily/Olivia/Rachel Maddow became my random OT3, but now I can't get them to go away. And the AU is more about the plot and the friendship than the pairing.
Other fandoms: Hmm... Criminal Minds, Fringe, and Pundit rpf are my main fandoms right now, but I'm a fandom butterfly. I've probably read at least one story in every major western femslash fandom at this point. Recently I've been into Skins (UK), and Birds of Prey (both the tv show and the comic), and x-men first class, but that's just the past two weeks and it could be anything two weeks from now. I've been writing a lot of Maddow/War (ostensibly from Good Omens) recently and really loving it, so if I find a long story in there, I might just write that instead.
Anything else you want to tell us about your fandom?: Not really. More people need to get on board with Garcia/Andi Swan fic.

Pairing: Beverly Crusher/Kathryn Janeway
Why did you choose this pairing?: I adore them. They're both mature, intelligent, professional women who have lives and great families (in the biological/non-biological sense) around them. I love the Star Trek universe because it's huge, and I have all of it to play with. I can have domesticity in space. I like that.
It's also far enough in the future that I can absolutely ignore any prejudice anyone might have because it's utopia-land, dammit, and no one questions why you'd go from canon relationships with men to women, and I get gay marriage (and babies) without any issues.
Other fandoms: Doctor Who, the X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, the West Wing, Sanctuary, Lost Girl, Legend of the Seeker, Body of Proof, the Good Wife, the Closer, Rizzoli and Isles, Castle, Leverage.
Anything else you want to tell us about your fandom?: It's an odd one. Star Trek is massive and full of a surprising amount of fannish forward motion, even though it's old. I am in that odd (typically femslash place) where I'm the only one truly obsessed with my pairing, but I'm supported, which is great.

Pairing: Tori Hanson (Ninja Storm Blue Ranger)/Vida Rocca (Mystic Force Pink Ranger)
Why did you choose this pairing?: Well, of the 'met in canon' pairings I have, I'm either already working on the big story I want to tell about them or there's no ideas I could think of that I could make last for 15k. But I do like the idea of Vida as a lesbian, and I had an old m/m slash idea with Vida winding up in Tori's area as part of the subplot, so I shifted the focus of it over to Vida and Tori instead of the boys. The best part is that the plot is resolving a lot better in my head now.
Other fandoms: Oh man, I'm a total fandom butterfly. The big ones right now other than Power Rangers are: Leverage, Claymore, Community, Nikita, Legend of the Seeker, Gokaiger, and I think that's it.
Anything else you want to tell us about your fandom?: Other than it's beyond awesome? It's got kick ass women, giant robots, super powers and spandex. :D
Any fun links about your fandom or pairing to share?: Well, since I just came up with the pairing on the fly, I think I'm the only one who's really thought of it. I think I'm going to work on some fandom primers for it, especially now that it's all available on Netflix.

Why did you choose this pairing?: I've been wanting to write something for it ever since I saw this picture.
Other fandoms: Harry Potter, Prince of Tennis, Bleach, One Piece, White Collar, House, too many to even think of, much less name
Anything else you want to tell us about your fandom?: Despite the fairly frequent fail, I love Naruto. It's currently my staple fandom (the one I keep coming back to over and over again), and has been for quite some time now. Hinata is my favorite girl, and I've kind of been on an unofficial streak of pairing her with anyone and everyone. Also, Sakura is awesome. :D
